imc Service: Calibration & Repairs
imc DataWorks | Support | Calibration & Repairs
When necessary, calibration/adjustment and repair services for imc customers in the U.S. is available from the imc DataWorks Technical Services office in Madison, Wisconsin. We offer an extensive range of services by imc factory trained service engineers for virtually all imc measurement systems: maintenance, repairs, calibration and balancing, including replacement parts.
Calibration Services (Including System Inspection)
All imc measurement systems include a manufacturer's calibration certificate when originally delivered. While this certificate never expires, we recommend a recalibration (calibration and adjustment, or balancing) of all systems every 2 years, or more often as required for your quality procedures, or when systems are used under more than normal demanding conditions.
Depending on the complexity of the system, the extent of necessary repairs, and other scheduled services, a system inspection and recalibration will normally take between 2 days and 2 weeks. Contact us to receiving product specific pricing and to schedule a time, or for more information.
Inspection and Calibration Procedures
The specific recalibration procedure depends on the details of the module being tested (amplifier ranges, filter options, etc.); but generally our procedures follow these steps:
- Incoming inspection: required for all service work performed, and includes visual and functional tests of incoming equipment, and procedural record keeping.
- Incoming calibration: this verification step is both a functionality test and incoming calibration; any service issues are noted.
- Repair services: many minor service items may be included at no additional charge as part of the calibration procedure (battery replacement, mounting screws, etc.).
- However, if more extensive damage is noted during the incoming inspection or calibration, we will advise you of a service cost and time estimate at this point.
- Updates: Software and/or hardware updates or modifications, if requested.
- Adjustment: correct all adjustable components to at or better than factory original specifications, for all ranges and modes. Includes outgoing calibration.
- Return system to appropriate firmware/software version. Final function test for other system capabilities.
- Preparation of calibration certification, and calibration log (if requested).
Calibration Standards
All calibration services utilize NIST tracable standards, and are performed in accordance with the imc Meßsysteme GmbH ISO 9001:2008 accrediation. We also honor the requirements set out in ISO/IEC/DIN/EN 17025 (ISO Guide25) and in the EA documents (e.g. DAR-EM6, 9 and 10) published by the DAR. imc's own calibration system is accredited in regular audits.
imc Meßsysteme GmbH has been ISO9001 certified since 1995 (original certificate 09 100 85 152). In June, 2009, the accredited TÜV CERT certification laboratory of TÜV Rheinland Group awarded imc a certificate (01 100 85152) attesting to our conformity to the world-wide accepted standard ISO/DIN/EN 9001:2008.
The organization of our quality management system is designed to provide integrated product accountability, and is based on our accumulated experience of over 20 years of manufacturing, and on the basis of ISO/DIN/EN 9001/9004, QS 9000, the VDA Volume 6.1, and as per the regulations (EWG) 1836/93 and ISO 14001 for environmental protection management, as well as with those of European and German law, particularly as regard environmental protection, work safety, equipment safety and product liability.
Equipment Repairs
Equipment service and repairs are handled exactly as our calibration services, and by the same factory trained personnel. Because the costs of repairs may be unknown at the time, we kindly request that you contact the imc DataWorks hotline (hotline@imcdataworks.com or 608-231-6123) before sending any equipment to us.
Depending on the nature of the problems, we may issue an RMA, and/or require advanced authorization.
