AutoStart without being connected to the system

Is there a way to make changes to the autostart configuration files on the compact flash card without being connected the IMC system?

Meaning, I have an IMC system running around in a field test unit. We are currently getting the data by the driver removing the card and uploading it. So I do not have access to the actual system but need to make some changes to the autostart configuration for that system. Can I somehow take my new IMC Experiment with the changes and deploy it directly to the compact flash, then mail this CF card to the field unit? Then all he has to do is put the new card in the system?
